Fan Systems are required for many applications in the Hydroponic world, but sometimes choosing the right setup can be confisuing. Don't forget to overestimate your capacity a little bit to make up for losses in the ducting.
How to Read this Guide:
ex. room size 2' x 2' x 7' = 28 cu. feet x 3 (Factor of loss in ducting) = 84 cfm
For an area of 2x2 feet that has a height of 7 feet, it would have 28 Cubic Feet and would require a factor of 3 to be multiplied for the losses in ducting. This means that a Minimum of an 84 CFM fan would be needed to empty this room in 3 minutes or less.
2' x 2' x 7' = 28 cu. feet x 3 (Factor of loss in ducting) = 84 cfm
3' x 4' x 7' = 63 cu. feet x 3 (Factor of loss in ducting) = 184 cfm
4' x 4' x 7' = 112 cu. feet x 3 (Factor of loss in ducting) = 336 cfm
6.5' x 6.5' x 7' = 295.75 cu. feet x 3 (Factor of loss in ducting) = 887.25 cfm
8' x 8' x 7' = 448 cu. feet x 3 (Factor of loss in ducting) = 1344 cfm
